Joe Symes and the Loving Kind - playing at Manchester Author Event 2016 Review

Joe Symes and the Loving Kind are a three piece band from Liverpool in the UK and I had the privilege of seeing them play live back in April 2014 at a charity event for Salford City Radio 94.4 in The Crescent Pub in Salford.

The band was founded on the 1st of January 2013.

I knew the venue quite well as I was a nursing student at Salford University just across the road.

Described as an acoustic rock band the line up back then was a five piece but is now a three piece band.  The line up is Joe Symes  lead vocalist,Guitars, Harmonica , Colin White on  drums, percussion, backing vocals and finally Stefan Bujak on bass guitar.

Since the release of their debut album in 2013, the band have embarked on a non-stop journey all over the UK, performing in cities and towns from London to Glasgow. Taking their self-titled debut on an assault around the country has seen them pick up some major support slots including The Blockheads, Dodgy, XTC, Bloc Party and Alt-J, as well as hitting the Festival circuit, and coming to the attention of Creation Management’s Alan McGee. The album has also been greatly received in America, and had magazine and airplay all over the world.

With the release of their new single, Things Get Better, the band showcase how they have evolved, formed from more increasingly energetic live performances, with a heavier sound, but still keeping their distinctive feel found on the first album. Things Get Better has already begun to attract attention at home and abroad, being featured on BBC Introducing, being played at Anfield (Liverpool FC) on match days, as well as already having some International airplay

Not every band gets the privilege to play at NOEL GALLAGHER and The High Flying Birds Official After Show Party but JOE SYMES & THE LOVING KIND did and when you hear them you’ll know why!

Joe Symes And The Loving Kind have also had the privilege of supporting STEVE CRADOCK (Paul Weller / Ocean Colour Scene) at the 02 Academy, Liverpool and also THE BLOCKHEADS at the iconic Erics in Liverpool. At the Scala, London they shared the stage with BLOC PARTY, ALT J and XFM.

Joe Symes And The Loving Kind brilliant debut album released in 2013 came to the attention of Oasis manager ALAN McGEE who immediately booked them onto his 359 Records night at District, Liverpool.

They are once again playing the aftershow party so if you would like a ticket contact them as soon as you can

The band are a mixture of The Beatles, Kinks, and with their own inimitable styling. The tracks on the album are all a little different. With some psychedelia for good measure.
A fantastic versatile band to be sure and one to watch
